RideLoop vs the status quo

What operators are doing today, and what RideLoop does instead.

None of the tools below talk to each other. Double bookings happen because the spreadsheet and the widget don't share stock. RideLoop is one system that already understands the shape of this business.

  • What operators are doing today

A generic booking widget that only understands “quantity,” not bike sizes or individual units

    What RideLoop does instead

Per-size, per-bike stock — down to the individual barcode-scanned bike

  • What operators are doing today

A spreadsheet for fleet/maintenance, disconnected from the booking system

    What RideLoop does instead

One system — a booking automatically reflects real fleet status, and maintenance is tracked against real usage

  • What operators are doing today

Payments through a generic checkout that either takes a cut going through a middleman or needs custom Stripe integration work

    What RideLoop does instead

Direct Stripe Connect payouts to the operator's own account, commission taken automatically, zero integration work

  • What operators are doing today

A separate chat or phone line staff manually reply to

    What RideLoop does instead

A booking assistant on your own storefront that checks real availability and proposes bookings, with the guest confirming and paying on a summary card

  • What operators are doing today

No weather protection — refund requests handled reactively after a rained-out tour

    What RideLoop does instead

Ride Guarantee proactively offers a free reschedule before the day, based on a real forecast check

  • What operators are doing today

A booking platform whose cut never changes, however big you get

    What RideLoop does instead

Commission that falls as you grow — 15% on the free plan down to 2% on Enterprise — with payouts straight to your own Stripe account

  • What operators are doing today

Guided tours running under minimum headcount with no visibility until it's too late

    What RideLoop does instead

Automatic minimum-headcount tracking with staff alerts and a clear decision point before the tour date

What RideLoop doesn’t do

The honest list, not just the flattering one.

Every comparison above is real. So is this — the gaps, stated plainly, not discovered after you’ve signed up.

No OTA or channel-manager sync
Bookings come from your own storefront, your own number and your own counter.
No dedicated staff mobile app yet
Scan Station and the full back office work well in a browser on a phone. A native app isn’t built yet.
Miles never acts without you
It checks availability, proposes a price and drafts the change — a person always confirms before anything actually books, changes or cancels.
No custom domain on your storefront
Every operator gets a RideLoop subdomain — yourshop.rideloop.co.uk — not yet their own domain.
No accounting-software sync
Reports export as CSV, ready to hand to a bookkeeper. A direct Xero or QuickBooks integration doesn’t exist yet.

Most of this is already on our roadmap. RideLoop ships continuously — we keep building against what operators actually ask for, so expect this list to get shorter, not longer.

No setup fee, no long-term contract.

Start on the free plan and prove it out with real bookings before paying anything. Upgrade when the business is ready to.
